A HEAVY DUTY MACHINE FOR FAST-LAND PREPARATION AT MINIMUM COST AND TIME – WITH MINIMUM MAINTENANCE. DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT THE BEST OUT OF A MACHINE.

  1. The main frame is of 125mm x 75mm high stress box section steel built to last a lifetime.
  2. Transport axle is designed so that front and rear gangs are balanced on the wheels when the harrow is in the working position, and in the transport position the wheels pivot rearwards thus transferring 1/3 of the weight on to the tractor drawbar. This ensures fast and safe transportation. Transport wheels are 750×16 mounted on heavy-duty tapered roller bearings.
  3. Gangs are adjustable both ways
  4. Discs are mounted on heavy-duty square holed bearings. Discs and bearings rotate on a stationary square shaft thus ensuring proper alignment at all times. Discs are bolted together with eight bolts
ensuring that discs never come loose.
  5. Wheels are hydraulic-operated
  6. Approximate weight of harrow in kgs is 60 multiplied by the number of discs. Harrows are made to
suit tractors from 100 to 180 HP.

Remember if you look after your machine it will look after you! Before using a new disc harrow check all nuts and bolts are tight and that the machine has been properly greased. All moving parts on the harrow linkage without grease nipples should be oiled once a day with old engine oil. Important: After the first day’s work, re-check and tighten all nuts and bolts.

HYDRAULIC OPERATED WHEELS
Your harrow is equipped with a double acting ram for raising and lowering the transport wheels. It is advisable to smear the ram shaft with grease if it is to be left outdoors for long period.

TYRE PRESSURE
35 lbs per Sq. Inch

ATTACHING OR DETACHING HARROW FROM TRACTOR
First make certain that the harrow is in the lowered position. This ensures that the hydraulic hoses are easy to couple up to the tractor when hitching up.

TRANSPORT BAR
This ensures that the harrow travels level when on the road. First hitch your harrow up to your tractor on a level piece of ground and raise the harrow into the transport position. Now check front and rear discs are approximately the same distance off the ground. If the front of the harrow is higher than the back then pin No. 21 should be moved rearwards. If too low at the front, the pin should be moved forwards. Before moving this pin the harrow should be lowered to the ground.

ADJUSTING GANGS LATERALLY
To shift front or rear gangs laterally, loosen the four clamping bolts and pull the end of the gang frame. The harrow must be in the raised position.

ANGLE OF CUT
To alter the angle of cut there is an adjustment plate on the right side of the harrow frame, both front and rear. To reduce the angle of cut, move front gang rearwards and rear gang forwards.

HARROWING
When you have lowered your harrow into the working position and you have started work, you can only turn your machine to the left, never to the right as this may cause bearing failure or disc breakage.

VERY IMPORTANT
Greasing of the machine MUST BE DONE EVERY DAY during the working season, and just before storage. All greasing points are fitted with a suitable nipple.
