The standard Ndume chisel plough tine has a shear pin protection system that breaks if a tine encounters a rock or roots in the soil. If the shear pin breaks the driver has to stop, get off his tractor and replace the shear pin. This is time consuming and hard work.
The new Ndume auto reset tine has an automatic break away system. When a tine hits a rock or root, the tine breaks away so all the driver needs to do is stop the tractor, lift the chisel plough out of the ground and the tine will reset itself automatically. The time taken to reset a tine is not much more than 1 minute.
