The Ndume Shredder is a simple machine to operate.
Once the machine is started all one requires to do is smoothly feed the stems into the hopper.
SAFETY NEVER PUSH STEMS INTO THE MACHINE WITH YOUR HANDS AND ARMS BEYOND THE RIM OF THE HOPPER.
The shredding mechanism pulls the stems into the knives and cutter bars. To ensure the operator’s hands and arms are not pulled in with the stems.
WE EMPHASIZE:
DO NOT ALLOW OPERATOR’S HANDS AND ARMS TO PASS BEYOND THE RIM OF THE HOPPER.
ALWAYS ENSURE THE MACHINE IS SWITCHED OFF AND THE ELECTRIC MAINS FEED IS DISCONNECTED BEFORE CARRYING OUT ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OR UNBLOCKING THE CUTTING KNIVES AND BARS
PREPARATION
Before feeding the machine ensure there are no metal objects, stones or pieces oftimber amongst the stems. This machine is designed to only shred flower stems and vegetable waste.
The operator’s attention and concentration should not be divided. The machine must be switched off AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE MAINS if the operator has to attend to another matter.
MAINTENANCE
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE, THE MACHINE MUST BE SWITCHED OFF AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE ELECTRICAL MAINS SOURCE.
Periodically inspect the knives and cutter bars for possible clogging or unnatural wear.
Any strange noise should be promptly inspected and any faults rectified. The shredding mechanism should turn smoothly and effortlessly on its own bearings, without scraping noise.
Promptly replace any worn parts with the original parts from the manufacturer. A full range of spare parts is available ex-stock in our factory. DO NOT fabricate your own parts.
